My name is Emily Siekert. I am a fourth-year Journalism major and TFM minor at San Diego State University. I am a commuter student from San Diego. I am very passionate about journalism, social media, film and music. I love going to concerts and listening to live music whenever the opportunity arises. I am a part of the Daily Aztec, KCR and The Look magazine at SDSU. I am also very interested in photojournalism and would love to photograph concerts in the future. I love doing concert reviews and am planning on doing more for the Daily Aztec this semester. I want my career to be something journalism-related, but I am not sure what yet.
During this semester in JMS 430, I am hoping to learn more about digital media. I am very interested in social media and digital platforms for journalism, such as online magazines and blogs. I hope to learn more about writing a story and applying it to different media as we begin our upcoming project. I want to learn how to make a good portfolio, so I am excited to add more to this portfolio this semester. I am looking forward to learning more and applying what I learn to my future career. I am also hoping that this class will help me figure out what I want to do after I graduate.
