Emily Siekert is a fourth-year journalism student at San Diego State University. She is minoring in television, film and media studies. Siekert hopes to take what she has learned throughout her college career and apply it to her future career. She wants to do something related to journalism and media. Recently, she has been interested in photojournalism and has taken photos of a concert. Siekert has written concert reviews for the Daily Aztec and wants to do more, as well as contribute to other organizations on campus.
Siekert is also interested in being a part of a magazine, where she can share her creativity with others. Last semester, she wrote a piece for The Look and has joined again, where she plans to contribute more this semester. She is inspired by this class and wants to make her own magazine website soon, where she can post what she loves. She wants to apply for more internships so that she can have more experience for when she graduates in the spring of 2026. Siekert wants to try a lot of things and find out what she truly loves by doing so. "If you never try, you'll never know what you're capable of," John Barrow said.  This is a quote Siekert lives by, and it helps motivate her to try new things because you never know what could happen.
